What happens when I run out of AI credits?
You can top up any time with an AI credit bundle starting at $1.50. Purchased credits never expire and stack on top of your next month's subscription allowance.
How does tenant screening work?
Screening runs on universal screening credits: 1 credit = 1 billable report = $5 pay-as-you-go. Criminal, eviction, and income verification each use 1 credit. Rental history (SSN trace) is free when paired with any of those paid reports; alone it uses 1 credit. Starter includes 2 screening credits/month; Growth includes 5; Portfolio includes 10. On Free and Starter, direct background checks and applicant invites run the full criminal + eviction + rental history package (2 credits). Growth and Portfolio can Pick & Choose individual reports.
Why don't you charge per unit at Growth and Portfolio?
Per-unit pricing penalizes growth. A landlord scaling from 5 to 50 units shouldn't face a tax on their success. At Growth and Portfolio, units are unlimited — you pay for AI usage and screening credits, not headcount.
What are the screening credit bundle discounts?
All plans can buy screening credit bundles at volume discounts off the $5/credit list price: 10% off the 10-pack ($4.50/credit), 20% off the 100-pack ($4.00/credit), and 30% off the 500-pack ($3.50/credit). Purchased credits persist on your balance while your subscription is active.
Is VerticalRent FCRA compliant?
Yes. VerticalRent operates as a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. We maintain full audit logs, capture permissible purpose at time of order, and include adverse action notice functionality.
Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely. Cancel from your account settings and your plan stays active until end of the billing period, then reverts to Free. No lock-in, no cancellation fees. Note: accumulated AI credits are forfeited when your subscription ends — use them before you cancel.
