Allocating income or expenses across multiple units within a building is often necessary for landlords. If you own an apartment building with 6 units and replace the roof, you will likely want to allocate the expenses across all 6 units. It is easy to do within VerticalRent. From the Income & Expense Ledger, click either "Add Income" or "Add Expense" from the Actions menu on the right-hand side.
You can choose "Multiple Properties" and select which properties an expense or income should be allocated across, you can choose a "Single Property", or you can choose a "Single Unit" (typically within a property). Categorizing your income & expenses in this manner allows you to report more effectively from within VerticalRent.
