You want to move to Los Angeles, but with more than 80 neighborhoods to choose from, how do you select a landing spot? While there are tons of neighborhoods, some stand out as the top spots for renters. These neighborhoods have a nice selection of rentals, ample activities, and restaurants that you are sure to love. Check out the top Los Angeles neighborhoods for renters and get ready to find the perfect fit.

Silver Lake

Are you looking for a neighborhood with lots of stuff to do? You can’t beat Silver Lake. This thriving hipster community is full of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and art galleries, so you’ll never have a dull moment here. It’s also home to the gorgeous Silver Lake Reservoir, where residents spend their free time jogging, walking, and taking in the view.

The one drawback in Silver Lake is the parking, but don’t worry too much about that. No matter where you live in Silver Lake, you’ll find something to a block or so away, so you can take a short stroll and get in on the action. Some residents don’t even own vehicles. That’s how walkable this popular neighborhood is.

Best Places to Live in Silver Lake

Silver Lake has lots of amazing apartment communities for renters. Rent does tend to skew on the higher side, but if you split it with a roommate, you can easily find something in your budget.

Are you preparing to move but still have some time? Secure your place at Junction 4121. It’s still in the pre-leasing stage, but this is sure to be the “it” complex when it opens in 2020. The units boast huge windows, stainless steel appliances, and gorgeous floors. The builders didn’t spare any expense on the interior, and the exterior is also a sight to behold. The rooftop deck is sure to become one of the most popular spots in Silver Lake.

Are you ready to move in right now? If so, consider The Waverly Luxury Apartments. This complex earned the word “luxury” in its name with fireplaces, gorgeous wood floors, outstanding views, and updated appliances. The gated neighborhood also has gorgeous outdoor spaces, including a sundeck and gardens.

Is your heart telling you to move to The Waverly Luxury Apartments, but your bank account is saying “no way?” You can still move to Silver Lake. You can rent a place for less at Silver Lake Towers. The accommodations aren’t as luxurious as they are in Junction 4121 and The Waverly Luxury Apartments, but you will still have everything you need here, including sweeping views, spacious closets, and high ceilings. Plus, it’s also a gated community so you’ll have your privacy when you make your way home.

Best Restaurants in Silver Lake

Eating out is a popular pastime in Silver Lake. Most of the residents eat at least some of their meals out during the week, and it’s no wonder why. This hipster neighborhood is a foodie paradise with restaurants to fit all tastes.

Let’s start with Burgers Never Say Die. This restaurant has an interesting history. Shawn Nee knew he had a knack for making smash burgers, so he started selling them in his backyard. Soon, he was popping up around town, selling his soon-to-be-famous burgers. Word of mouth got around and hungry customers wanted more, so he started his own restaurant at the edge of Silver Lake. Come in for a smash burger but save room for the CVT Soft Serve.

Café Tropical is kind of like the grandfather of the restaurants in the neighborhood. While many of the eateries are on the new side, this spot has been serving up tasty Cuban cuisine for years. The Cuban sandwiches are to die for, and you won’t want to miss the guava cheese pastry. This warm pastry is so big that you can share it, but don’t feel obligated to break off a piece for your dining companion. You can bring the rest home with you for a snack.
